Rakshabandhan is a Hindu festival and the occasion is the symbol of unwavering love and faith of brother and sister. On 2021, it will be celebrated on 22nd August. According to Jyotishacharya Pandit Kameshwar Nath Chaturvedi, on the day of Rakshabandhan, an auspicious combination of planets and constellations is being made.
On this day there is Shobhan Yoga along with Griha Nakshatra. Auspiciousness will increase with Shobhan Yoga. Told that on this day the value of full moon date is till 5:31 pm and Dhanishta Nakshatra till 7:38 pm. Moon will be in Aquarius.
While tying Rakhi, it is considered best for the brother to face the east and the sister in the west. Sisters to their brother, perform aarti with ghee lamp, then after feeding sweets, tie rakhi on the brother’s right wrist. The description of this Raksha Sutra also comes in the Mahabharata.
Jyotishacharya Chaturvedi told that this mantra should be recited while tying Rakhi so that it can get auspicious results. Mantra: Om yen badho bali raja danwendro mahabala:. Ten tvambhi badhnami raksha ma chal ma chal. Rakhi will be tied and remain all day and can be kept even longer.
येन बद्धो बलि राजा, दानवेन्द्रो महाबलः |
तेन त्वां मनुबध्नामि, रक्षंमाचल माचल ||
Kameshwar Chaturvedi told that Bhadra happens in the first half of the full moon date. But this year, in 2021, from 6:10 pm on the first day i.e. 21st of August, the full moon is happening. With this, Bhadrakal will also begin. Bhadra will remain till 6:15 am on 22nd August. Rakhi can be tied anytime between 6:15 am to 5:31 pm.
