The Railway Men, the first production from Yash Raj Films (YRF) Entertainment. The YRF is about to develop 5 streaming series in the upcoming year.
The series is a tribute to the heroes of the Bhopal gas tragedy, 1984, who were overlooked. The series is about the Bhopal railway station workers, who helped save thousands of lives.
In 1984, a cloud of toxic gas broke out from an American pesticide plant in Bhopal, a city in central India, taking the lives of thousands of people and making a lot of injuries. On December 2, 1984, the world’s severe industrial disaster that taken away thousands of lives on the night.
To mark the 37th anniversary of Bhopal Gas Tragedy, YRF announced its first project over the OTT platform,- The Railway Men.

On December 2, 1984, in the wee hours, methyl isocyanate gas leaked from a pesticide factory of American Union Carbide Corporation. More than half a million people were poisoned that night with the gas that came out of the pesticide plant, and the official death toll exceeded 5,000 were reported.
Shiv Rawail makes his directorial debut with the series The Railway Men. Previously he worked as assistant director on YRF productions “Befikre”, “Dhoom 3”, “Fan” and Managing Director as Aditya Chopra. The cast of the series is led by R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyenndu Sharma and budding actor Babil Khan, the son of the late Irrfan Khan.

We are not going to leave any stone unturned to ensure that this story reaches out to audiences, across the world, in the best possible way so that they can understand the depth of devastation that this tragedy has caused in India.”
On December 2, 2022, The Railway Men will stream as a reverence to humanity and colossal sacrifice, where the whole nation shook.
Meanwhile, a series, “Five Past Midnight in Bhopal: The Epic Story of the World’s Deadliest Industrial Disaster,” produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP, directed by Richie Mehta, about the complete story of Bhopal Gas tragedy, based on the book of Dominique Lapierre and Javier Moro’s, 1997 is also in progress.
