Nawazuddin Siddiqui just completed his dream home in Mumbai, a magnificent bungalow. The actor has now joined the ranks of A-list celebs who own a home in the city. In a recent emotional interview, the actor reflected on his early struggles and how he used to live in teeny-tiny flats, from which he has since come a long way.
The actor recently discussed how different his new palatial bungalow was from his other homes in the city, which he designed and built over three years. Nawazuddin battled for over a decade in Bollywood until breaking through with Gangs of Wasseypur in 2012. During this time, the actor lived in a number of modest flats, which were frequently crowded with other aspiring actors. Nawazuddin made a comparison between the two periods in a recent interview.

“Aaj jitna bada mera personal bathroom hai, utnasa mera ghar hua karta tha (Today my bathroom is as big as the house I once lived in). When I moved to Mumbai, I stayed in such a small place, which I shared with four other budding actors. Woh kamra itna chhota tha ki agar main door kholu toh kisi ke pairon mein lag jata tha (That room was so small that if you opened the door, it hit someone’s feet), because, we all used to lay our beds on the floor when we slept there. Dheere dheere (Slowly slowly), I started sharing my room with three people, then with two, and it is only from 2005 that I started living alone.” said Nawazuddin Siddiqui to Bombay Times.

Despite the fact that he now belongs to the bandwagon of Bollywood stars who own large homes in Mumbai, the actor said he never envisaged himself living in a bungalow. The actor claimed in an interview with The Times of India that the property he currently owns is a result of all of his hard work.
When he first moved to Mumbai to pursue a career as an actor, the actor remembers sharing a small house with four other individuals. The house was so little, he said, that when someone opened the door, it would hit someone’s leg. He now has a bathroom that is as large as his home.
The bungalow is named Nawab after Nawazuddin’s father. The actor expressed his desire for his father to visit his large Mumbai home, but it was not to be.
He said, “Unka mann Mumbai ke ghar mein nahi lagta tha (He didn’t like the flats of Mumbai). So, I always had this thing in my mind that I would get him to a bigger place in Mumbai one day, but he passed away before that. I wish my dad could see this bungalow.”
Nawazuddin’s new residence is located in Versova. His house in Budhana, Uttar Pradesh, is thought to have inspired the bungalow’s design. The cottage and its surrounding fences are all painted white, and trees line the outdoor area.
Despite the fact that the 47-year-old actor has moved in, he still needs to make a few improvements to his home. “Aise lagna chahiye ki yeh ek artiste ka ghar hai,” he says, adding black and white posters of great actors and directors on one of the walls. (It should resemble an artist’s residence.)”
However, the actor, who is usually preoccupied with filming, realises that he will not be able to spend much time in his freshly constructed bungalow. “Main rahunga hi kitna yaha? (How much will I stay here?) As actors, we spend most of our time in our tiny vanity vans. Meri aadhi life jo hai woh vanity vans mein hi guzar gayi hai (I have spent half of my life in vanity vans),” Nawazuddin Siddiqui said.
